Immigration Law Conference 2020
Crossing the Borders of Immigration Law
Melbourne | 5 – 7 March 2020
The 2020 conference will challenge thinking at the point where migration law meets other law. For example:
- Business law and business migration;
- Employment law issues and migrant labour rights;
- International law, war crimes and treaties;
- Family migration and domestic violence; and
- Immigration detention and tort law.
The 2020 Immigration Law Conference will examine the interactions with immigration law with other areas of law. This conference will also focus on how the everchanging landscape of immigration law and the contemporary priorities of the Australian Government often presents a challenge to legal practitioners in advising clients from a legal and policy perspective.
The conference aims to equip practitioners with updated knowledge and skills in immigration law and the overlap with other areas of law, and to ensure practitioners are able to provide appropriate and timely advice during these challenging times.
This year the Immigration Law Conference has a spectacular speaker line up, with speakers from government, private and the academic sector. Read the full program here.

As the Law Council provides events directed toward lawyers, approval has not been sought from OMARA. Migration agents wanting to attend the event are advised to contact OMARA beforehand in respect of whether CPD points can be earned from attendance.
