The Philippines: Attacks against lawyers escalating

The Law Council of Australia has signed a global petition to raise concerns over the increasing attacks against lawyers in the Philippines and the oppressive working environment they face since the start of President Duterte’s administration.
Over 150 Bar Associations, lawyers’ organisations and members of the legal profession urge the Philippine Government to guarantee the safety of lawyers in the country.
