Human Rights
The Law Council endorses an approach, consistent with international law and practice, which confirms that all human rights are universal, indivisible and interdependent and interrelated.
The protection and promotion of human rights is a major strategic priority for the Law Council as outlined in the Strategic Plan 2015-2020.
The Law Council’s human rights principles and commitments are directed to: the domestic implementation of international human rights in Australia; advocacy in relation to human rights in Australia and internationally; education and public awareness in relation to human rights; and participation in the international human rights system.
